Thank you for the question. You are correct, Lester Brown will be with us Monday, not Tuesday, and we've corrected it in the post thanks to you.

This blog says Lester Brown is joining the Council next Tuesday. But the calendar has him coming to the Council on Monday 11/9. Am I misunderstanding, or is there a discrepancy?

Thanks,
Filip

Listening to Ms. Applebaum on KQED while driving this evening I almost had to pull over in disbelief.

How can someone so educated and who is presented as an "expert" get so much so very wrong?

Regarding Georgia, she completely ignores the internationally recognized fact that the Georgians started shelling their own positions in a failed false flag operation to draw the Russians in. The Georgians were being advised by U.S. and Israeli military officials at the time, I hasten to add.

On Chechnya, she appears to be woefully ignorant of the thoroughly documented evidence which shows that western trained "Islamic terrorists" have been funded and infiltrated into the region to destabilize Russia. This is a program that has its direct roots with the creation of the mujahideen in Afghanistan in the summer of 1979. Perhaps Ms. Applebaum could ask her husband to get a briefing from fellow Pole Zbigniew Brzezinski, who convinced President Carter to begin this 30- year nightmare for everyone who lives in Central Asia, the Balkans, the Caucasus and other targeted areas throughout Africa and Asia.

Ms. Applebaum seems totally unaware of the decades long history of western interference in the affairs of Iran, the most recent proof of which is the over $400 million budgeted by the U.S. Congress to destabilize Iran in 2007.

I suggest Ms. Applebaum broaden her research and study the work of Michel Chossudovsky, Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed and a few other genuinely independent scholars who have studied and written extensively on these subjects. I would also hope that the WAC would invite these gentlemen to speak on these topics.

Regards,

John W. Wright
